Get ready to embark on an epic journey through the magical world of Pokémon in Pokerogue. Step into the shoes of Kyle or Amber to uncover the mysteries of time and space.

WHAT IS POKEROGUE?

Pokerogue is a Pokémon game with a roguelike twist. Players begin by selecting a starter Pokémon from a pre-determined list. Afterward, players battle their way through waves of wild Pokémon and Trainer encounters, earning rewards after each wave to invest in various upgrades.

At the end of each floor, players must face a formidable boss battle. If victorious, the entire team has their HP fully restored and advances to a new area. Conversely, if a player's Pokémon are all knocked out, the run ends, and they must restart from Wave 1. Throughout the game, you will collect Egg Vouchers, which can be redeemed for Eggs. These eggs typically hatch into rare moves or Shiny Pokémon.

Game modes

  • Classic Mode: When starting a new game, you are taken to a screen where you select your starter Pokémon. The maximum total "cost" for your starting team is 10. In this mode, your Pokemon also has a level cap; this cap increases every 10 waves you complete.
  • Daily Run: A new challenge appears every 24 hours. All players begin with the exact same challenge, based on a specific "seed" code established for that day. Each run starts with a pre-generated team of three Level 20 Pokémon.
  • Endless Mode: Similar to Classic Mode, players are free to choose any starter Pokémon they currently own. However, in this mode, the maximum cost for your starting Pokémon is 15, allowing you to begin your journey with a more powerful team. Shop and Post-Battle Rewards

After completing most battles, you will visit the shop before continuing your journey. You can purchase standard items from the shop or select a free bonus item from a random selection of drops.

Some key items available in the shop include

  • Healing/Utility: Potions, Super Potions, Hyper Potions, and Max Potions to restore your Pokémon's HP.
  • Stat Boosters: X Attack, X Defense, X Sp. Atk, X Sp. Def, X Speed, and X Accuracy to temporarily boost stats during battle.
  • Tactical/Catching: Items used to catch wild Pokémon.
