Pacman is a classic arcade game designed by Toru Iwatani and released by Namco in 1980. In the game, you control Pac-Man as he navigates a perilous maze to collect all the small dots. However, the journey is far from simple, as four ghosts are constantly hunting him down.

GAMEPLAY

Navigating the dangerous maze

The Pacman maze features narrow passages, blind corners, sharp turns, and various routes. Players must find the right path to avoid being caught by the ghosts. Each ghost has a unique movement style. Blinky (red) relentlessly pursues Pac-Man, while Pinky tries to predict his path to cut him off. Inky’s behavior is highly complex, as he factors in both Blinky’s position and Pac-Man’s movements to determine his direction. Clyde (orange) is the most unpredictable; sometimes he chases Pac-Man, while at other times he wanders randomly through the maze.

Power pellets are located in the four corners of the maze. When Pac-Man eats one, the ghosts change color and temporarily become targets that Pac-Man can chase.

Cherries and bonuses

In addition to standard dots, Pac-Man can collect special bonuses that appear in the center of the maze. Collecting fruit allows you to boost your score rapidly. While collecting dots builds up your score, power pellets and special bonuses offer the chance for a massive score surge. When the power-up effect is active, eating consecutive ghosts yields 200, 400, 800, and 1,600 points, respectively.
