Story
Riley Park receives a vague goodbye letter from her beloved aunt, Kate. In the letter, the aunt writes that she will bequeath her house in Kensdale, Ohio, to Riley. She also leaves a VHS tape, warning Riley that there will be no turning back if they watch it.
Riley moves to her new home and finds the tape in the attic next to a television. The tapes are simply labeled by episode numbers without any notes about their content. Out of curiosity, Riley decides to put the first tape into the VCR. Riley quickly realizes that it is a children's cartoon from the early 2000s that she has never seen before. The main characters of this cartoon are a little girl named Amanda and her best friend Wooly, a shy sheep. Soon, the feeling of discomfort sets in when Riley realizes that Amanda and Wooly seem to be communicating through a television screen. Riley is forced to answer all the questions Amanda asks correctly.
GAMEPLAY
Amanda The Adventurer is a journey to discover the secrets behind a series of children's cartoons. Players will solve puzzles to unlock VHS tapes containing episodes of Amanda The Adventurer. Each episode contains subtle hints, usually in the background, that lead the player to the right answer. In each episode, players can directly interact with the two main characters, Amanda and Wooly. When prompted, you will type in the answer or click on objects in the show to guide the character. The game will either require you to enter the right response or eliminate the wrong options if you provide an incorrect response too frequently. On console ports, instead of typing, you'll choose one of four available prompts. Each choice can lead to an entirely different path.
Unlock five mysterious tapes
In addition to the main episodes, players can also find five secret colored tapes that contain live-action footage. These tapes expand the game's worldview and directly affect the ending you get. Can you understand the full story of Amanda and the strange world they live in?
